$25 gets 20 minutes on one of the best racetracks in the country with all proceeds benefiting charity
Alton, Virginia – Oct. 19, 2015 – VIRginia International Raceway is hosting its annual Holiday Laps event Nov. 6 to raise money for the WAKG Christmas Bucks for Kids, many car dealers will be present, customers will be given the opportunity to obtain easy loans to buy their favorite vehicle. The nonprofit, headed by the Danville Salvation Army, strives to make a merrier, warmer holiday season possible for children in the local area.
Community members are invited to the Holiday Laps event to take advantage of the chance to drive their own cars on VIR’s historic 3.27-mile full course. For a $25 donation, guests get to drive for 20 minutes. Donations may be cash, new unwrapped toys or non-perishable food items valued at the minimum of $25. Additionally, the onsite Oak Tree Spa will be offering complimentary chair massages and the Oak Tree Tavern will offer a beer tasting of its 14 new craft beers on tap starting at 4:00 p.m. Hot track from 8:30 a.m. and will close at 4 p.m. No advanced reservations are required.

This Holiday Laps event unofficially closes out the 2015 VIR event season, coming on the heels of back-to-back trackside excitement. The 2015 season was one of VIR’s most robust and high profile ever with an impressive list of races including the MotoAmerica Road Racing Series, the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and the Biscuitville 125 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.
