Has watching racing at VIR made you feel the need for speed? Do you want to go out on the VIR track and follow in the tire marks of heroes past like Carroll Shelby and Roger Penske – or the current stars of the Grand-Am Rolex series or the AMA Superbikes? There are many ways to drive or ride on track through various clubs and at our spectator events.
Track Touring Sessions
Many of our spectator events have track touring sessions. Anyone with a 3 day ticket may be eligible for a track touring session behind the pace car. Sign up for VIR Email Updates for more details as you will have to sign up for tracking touring in advance. Fan Blast subscribers will be updated periodically on track touring opportunities at events.

Enthusiast Track Days
If you want to drive or ride the track at higher speed and perhaps receive some instruction, you can sign up for a track day with any of a very wide range of groups that come to VIR. VIR is one of the best drivers’ tracks in the country! View our [Track Schedule], and you will see that on each weekend and many weekdays we have a club listed as renting the track. Click on the particular event of interest to you, and you will see a link to that group’s website. Follow the instructions on that website to sign up. VIR Club Guest Day Program
One of the easiest ways to get on track for the first time is through the VIR Club Guest Day Program. For one-time only, you can sign up in our touring lights group for a $300 guest fee and get several sessions throughout the day on track behind the pace car. No SUVs or trucks allowed, but any reasonably high performance vehicle is eligible. Shoulder and lap belts required along with approved helmet. Come and sample VIR’s world famous road course. Member driving days are listed below and on our VIR Club page. You must reserve your spot as a guest driver at least one week prior to the driving day.
