Why Partner with VIR?

From location, to opportunity, to reach, you'll find value in partnership with VIR.

VIR has received international acclaim and rave reviews as one of the most exciting road courses in all of motorsports. It’s friendly, dedicated staff and extensive offering of amenities and activities make VIR a year-round fan favorite for participants, spectators, sponsors, corporate guests, and officials.

Chosen as one of Car and Driver Magazine’s top six road courses in the nation, VIRginia International Raceway is a multipurpose road course offering professional and amateur auto and motorcycle racing, as well as a wide range of track events. Each year, VIR draws hundreds of thousands of spectators for some of the best road racing in the country. Its uphill esses and sharp elevation changes not only make it a fan and driver favorite, but have also established it as a prominent testing facility for the automotive industry.

Geographic Landscape

VIR is located in the heart of the Mid-Atlantic region, serving a population of 15 million people, with a major concentration of race fans, within a 150-mile radius. Participants come from virtually every state to drive, crew, and spectate at VIR.

Geographically, VIR competes with Summit Point, Carolina Motorsport Park, Dominion Raceway, Roebling Road (second tier tracks) and, to a lesser extent, Road Atlanta and NJMP for track rental days. VIR offers five distinct track configurations, two of which can be rented simultaneously, nearly year-round. Over the past ten years, VIR has averaged 367 track rentals annually; more than 260 calendar days.

Professional race teams and automotive and tire OEMs including GM, Ford, Tesla, Lucid Motors, Honda, Toyota, Car & Driver, Jaguar, Cadillac, MultiMatic, BMW, and Porsche choose VIR for their high-performance testing.

Visitor Demographics

VIRginia International Raceway entertains 350,000+ visitors annually. Fan attendance rivals that of tracks that have been promoting races far longer than VIR. The average VIR visitor is difficult to define as car clubs, private groups, driver education courses, sanctioned events, bike clubs, manufacturer testing, spectators, and more come through the gates each day.

Multitudes of individuals enjoy notable manufacturer support through incentives such as car corrals during events. Corvette, Porsche, and BMW corrals are a consistent offering selling out year to year, while Mini, NISSAN, Foreign Cars Italia, and others are actively seeing growth.
