HyperFest Race Weekend Speeds into VIRginia International Raceway May 18-20

VIRginia International Raceway is proud to host HyperFest, the National Auto Sport Association’s annual motorsports festival presented by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, May 18-20. Now in its 17th year, the adrenaline-pumping event known as “the Automotive Amusement Park” provides something fun for everyone throughout the weekend, including road racing, helicopter rides, karting, live music and more.

This year’s schedule is revving up with jam-packed action, with the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge Presented by Grassroots Motorsports at the center of the weekend. The no-holds-barred competition is now expanded to a two-day format May 18 and 19, and it’s aimed at finding the fastest machines on four wheels. Visitors heading to the track can also put their own street car to the test on VIR’s 3.27-mile premier road course during the National Auto Sport Association High Performance Driving Event sessions.

“HyperFest is without a doubt one of our favorite events of the year, providing a full weekend of non-stop family entertainment,” said Connie Nyholm, owner and CEO of VIR. “Folks get the chance to let loose and celebrate cars and speed, experiencing all the excitement the Automotive Amusement Park at VIR has to offer, from burnout contests and racing competitions, to a kid zone, spectator games from www.666casino.com/no/games and more. It’s sure to be a weekend that fans won’t soon forget!”

The fun at HyperFest also includes National Auto Sport Association road racing; Cosmis Racing Wheels USDrift Shootout; tire burnout contest; car corrals; drifting demos and ride-alongs with champions like Monster Energy’s Vaughn Gittin Jr.; additional ride-alongs in rally cars and off-roaders; a vendor midway; power wheels downhill attack; car shows; off-road obstacle courses; camping and much more. Spectators can also drive their own car on the challenging and fun Patriot Circuit at VIR for only $50.

“HyperFest is a mecca for gearheads from the church of speed,” said HyperFest founder and director Chris Cobetto. “It is like throwing a huge party with all your car friends and having a race break out. VIR is the perfect place for this gathering. It’s beautiful, the camping is extraordinary, and the staff focused on a good time being had by all.”

Advanced tickets for the HyperFest weekend are $30-45 for three-day general admission. All tickets will be an additional $10 if purchased at the gate. Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge with a paying adult and parking is also free.
