Alton, Va. – Nov. 28, 2022 – VIRginia International Raceway is hosting a Charity Laps event to benefit Victory Junction, ayear-round camp for children with chronic medical conditions and serious illnesses. All funds raised from the Dec. 9 event will directly support the Randleman, N.C.-based nonprofit in its efforts to provide life-changing exciting, fun and empowering camping experiences in a medically-sound environment at no cost to campers or their families.

For a donation of just $25, guests can drive their own cars on VIR’s historic 3.27-mile full course for 15 to 20 minutes and experience the world-famous Uphill Esses and Oak Tree Turn for themselves. Visitors not interested in driving but still want in on the fun, can pay $45 and take a hot lap with #46 Thad Moffitt, Richard Petty’s grandson. For the ultimate race day experience, the “43 Minute Pit Stop” will be offered. This experience will give 143 race fans an opportunity for a private meet and greet with “The King” himself, Richard Petty. The $100 ticket includes a complimentary digital photo
download and a boxed lunch at VIR. Sign up for one of the limited amount of tickets at www.victoryjunction.org/43-minute-pit-stop.

Victory Junction opened in 2004 on 84 acres donated by racing royalty, Richard and Lynda Petty. Their son, Kyle Petty, a
fixture on the NASCAR circuit for more than 26 years, decided to build Victory Junction and honor the memory of his
son, Adam. Since it opened, Victory Junction has delivered more than 100,000 free camp experiences to children from
across the country and beyond.

“Victory Junction does incredible things for children with serious illnesses and it’s an honor for VIR to be able to support
them in any way that we can,” said Connie Nyholm, co-owner and CEO of VIR. “Providing open access to our track is the
least we can do to allow fans to live out their racing dreams while benefiting a great cause. We invite everyone to join us
for what is sure to be a meaningful and incredibly fun day.”
