Operation Motorsport Race of Remembrance 2017

Operations MotorsportsFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 31, 2017

OPERATION MOTORSPORT BENEFICIARIES TO PARTICIPATE IN RACE OF REMEMBRANCE
Operation Motorsport to engage ill and injured service members and disabled veterans through
motorsports opportunities.

WHAT: Operation Motorsport is a Canadian veteran operated Not for Profit that was inspired by
Mission Motorsport UK after a visit to the Race of Remembrance in 2016. Seeing the healing and
recovery that can happen as evidenced through Motorsport, alongside the comradery, understanding and brotherhood sparked the creation of Operation Motorsport. Based in Brighton, Ontario, Operation Motorsport was founded on the basis of 3 simple words; Excite / Engage Empower. The premise is to engage, through Motorsport activities, ill & injured Service Members & disabled Veterans, affected by military service, leading to aiding in their recovery & rehabilitation.

As 2017 was a development year for Operation Motorsport, we have seen our Beneficiaries engaged
within high level sportscar racing throughout the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) series across North America. With unique relationships built within IMSA and the competing teams,
Operation Motorsport was able to embed several Beneficiaries within teams such as Paul Miller
Racing (Lamborghini), Riley Motorsports (AMG), Turner Motorsports (BMW), Bodymotion Racing
(Porsche) and CJ Wilson Racing (Porsche).

This year, we are bringing a North American contingent to Anglesey, Wales, UK, that consists of
Team Canada, including our Board members and one Beneficiary, and Team USA, which consists of
three Beneficiaries, and two volunteers. This event, as for MM, is the culmination of a year of hard
work, a chance to celebrate the victories and struggles, but mostly, the opportunity to work alongside our brothers and sisters in arms, with a bit of rivalry, towards a common goal.

WHEN: Friday, November 10 – Sunday, November 12 2017

WHERE: Anglesey Circuit, Ty Croes, Anglesey, Wales, UK, LL63 5TF
Note: Media interested in covering the event should RSVP to tiffany@operationmotorsport.ca or 613-921-6172 no later than 6:00PM, Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Operation Motorsport
representatives and beneficiaries are available for interview.

WHY: Operation Motorsport is a nonprofit organization that engages, through motorsports
opportunities, ill and injured service members and disabled veterans, affected by military service,
leading to aiding in their recovery and rehabilitation.

Operation Motorsport programs coordinate and provide motorsports experiences as a recovery
activity, a training opportunity and the qualifications needed to return to work, and serves as the
relationship manager between the Motorsports and automotive industry for vocational opportunities for the service member and veteran who have visible and non-visible injuries.

QUOTE: “We are excited to once again work with Mission Motorsport UK and the USO of North
Carolina, both leaders in supporting military ill and injured service members in their time of
transitioning to civilian life, to be able to end out our first year by selecting beneficiaries from the
excite program to join us as beneficiaries at the Race of Remembrance is, as they say in the UK,
“Mega”,” said Tiffany Lodder, executive director, Operation Motorsport. “We have seen the true and
positive impact that connecting service members to motorsports has on their recovery and
rehabilitation, and we are committed to providing respite, rehabilitation, vocational support and
training to those affected by military operations within the framework of Motorsport.”
