Buckle up race fans! The IMSA WeatherTech Championship is ready for another exciting race weekend at VIR. August 26-28 is your chance to witness the riveting spectacle and feel nearly 600 HP thunder in your chest as we celebrate this one-of-a-kind event. Be here for the GT only showcase as they take center stage and battle for the overall win. But wait there’s more! In addition to the WeatherTech Championship race, the Michelin Pilot Challenge, Prototype Challenge, Lamborghini Super Trofeo AND Mazda MX-5 Cup series are here too!

However, the racing fuel that tingles your nose down is not all that IMSA at VIR has to offer. Check out some of these other highlights:

  • Take part in one of the car corrals (Porsche, Corvette, BMW CCA) where you can park and spend time with your peers….including parade laps! Listen to your favorite team members, including drivers, as they tell you about the weekend strategy and hear from other guests.
  • Ever been around VIR with a driver that knows what they’re doing? Back this year, Friday-Sunday on the Patriot Course, is the ever- popular Michelin Hot Laps. Register at the Michelin display on the skid pad as soon as you get here, they fill up quickly!
  • Be here Saturday afternoon for the Driver-Fan Forum when the drivers tell you how they’ll battle with each other, the elements and the Climbing Esses. Tentatively, this is set for 1:45-2:15 at Kaizen Autosport in the North Paddock.
  • Also, check the schedule for autograph sessions. They’re always held right behind the team transporters.
  • Feed your inner adrenaline junkie at 50 mph at the go-kart track. It will be open all weekend! Reservations encouraged but not required.
  • Relax with dinner, refreshments and a show at the Oak Tree Tavern. Enjoy a free concert from Dan Marshall (of American Idol fame) on Saturday evening scheduled from 7-9pm.
  • Kerby and the VIR Kids Club welcome all young fans. 12 and under are free with a paying adult and, on top of the VIR Kids Club activities, you’ll find bouncy houses and the teams love for kids to stop by.
  • We have some great photo locations, make sure you tag us! Three potential sites are the LOVE sign, Son of Oak Tree and a yet revealed location “near” the skidpad. Trust us, you won’t be able to miss it.

Current military will be admitted free and veterans will receive a 50% discount. Just present a valid Government-issued military ID to registration when you arrive.

Parking is free.

Many say there’s no better way to enjoy VIR than camping. We welcome hundreds of campers for IMSA, but don’t worry, we still have room for more. If you plan on tent camping, check out the newly opened area across from concessions (turn 2-5). Feeling the need for speed? Check out the recently opened fence-line spots on the backstretch as cars race by at over 160mph! If you’re camping, make sure to “dress to impress” your campsite, we’ll be out looking for winners in our Camping Contest. Camping Information
You can bring your own golf cart, or UTV, you’ll just need to pay for an off-road vehicle pass on your way in. Or, order a golf cart, our supplier will take your order in advance. Golf Cart Rentals
