VIR hosts open test days for drivers and teams prior to the major club and professional race weekends, as shown on the chart below.
Registration: To register for the test day, please visit Track Rabbit and search events at VIRginia International Raceway. Track Rabbit registration will close at 11pm the night prior to the Test Day.
Pricing: VIR Drivers Club Members $245. Non VIR Drivers Club Members $325. **There is no ½ day testing rate. The above pricing does not include Camping, Electrical or Off-road Vehicle Passes. These items may be purchased from the security department upon arrival.
Late Fees: A late fee of $50 will be added to registrations made after 1:00pm the Sunday prior to the test day.
Cancellations: Cancellations made prior to the start of early registration (3pm on the day prior to the test day) are refunded in full, minus a $25 processing fee. No refund or future event credit will be given for no-shows or same day cancellations.
Registration Check-in: Early registration starts at 3:00pm and ends at 6:00pm on the day prior to the test day. Registration will resume the following morning from 7:00am to 9:00am. Registration will be held in the red registration trailer located in the Raceplex at the end of Ryan’s Way. Click here for a facility map.
Lost Run Stickers: Only the registered driver will be given a Test Day run sticker and drivers wristband. Any lost or misplaced run stickers will need to be re purchased at the regular Test Day rate.
Paddock Access: Drivers who have registered for the VIR Open Test Day will be given access to the paddock at 5:30pm the day prior to the Test. Any drivers not participating in the Test Day will have access to the paddock the following day once the race event opens their registration (Usually, 2pm on the VIR Open Test Day). Crew for registered drivers of the Test Day, will be given access to the paddock at the same times of those drivers. If a crew member is hauling their own car and they are not registered for the Test Day, they will be required to drop their trailer in the Raceplex until the Race Events registration opens. (Usually, 2pm on the VIR Open Test Day)
**Speed Shops/Trackside Support Teams/Auto Services: Any groups/teams that will arrive with multiple cars on a hauler or trailer must provide the Track Director with a list of those cars at least 1 week prior to the test day. The list must include the following information. Expected date/time of arrival, number/color/make of each car, and the drivers name for each car. If this information is not given, the trailer will have to be dropped in the Raceplex until the race event registration is open. (Usually, 2pm on the VIR Open Test Day). Damages: Drivers are financially responsible for the repair or replacement of any damaged track property. An invoice will be provided to the driver with the damages and cost associated.
Minor Waiver: The guardian of any driver under the age of 18 must complete the minor waiver prior to them taking the track. Please submit the completed waiver at the time of check in. Click here for a Minor Waiver.
